📍Visit our 4 PetSmart locations (Trinity Hills, Beacon Hill, Sunridge, and soon in Airdrie) to meet our adorable adoptable cats.
🙌 Our dedicated volunteers at the Beacon Hill location spend quality time daily with these feline friends. They play, interact, and provide much-needed attention. Their efforts help our cats socialize and thrive while they await their forever homes.🏠♥️
We asked some of our Cat Enrichment volunteers, Can you recall a particular moment when you realized you were contributing to making a difference in the lives of the animals In ARFs care.?
Jenn L said “Sometimes we never know the entire background about a cat that comes into care. Some need socializing, some need love and some just want your attention. I have seen cats that fit all of this criteria with ARF. Seeing their faces light up or hearing them meow when they see you is enough to make your day that much brighter. Some of them have jumped right into my lap when I sit on the floor with them. They ignore all the toys I bring and just sit with me wanting affection and attention. Their faces and demeanor tell me everything I need to know that they enjoy the time I spend with them as much as I do.”
Leah W said “The cats are just always so happy and playful when I arrive and makes me feel good” & Christy H said how much she really loves the cats and just being with them makes her happy.
Kelley L said “I enjoy volunteering with the cat enrichment program because the kitties have so much love to give and they deserve the utmost care and attention whilst they await their furrever home!”
The ARF’s Cat Care team is on a mission to make every whisker count!🐱🐾They’re the unsung heroes behind the scenes, ensuring that our adorable feline residents feel loved and cherished while they await their forever homes.🏡

We asked one of the Cat Care volunteers, Azusa H, What called you to volunteer with ARF: “Volunteering at ARF with Kitty Corner makes me satisfied through taking care of all the tasks required and receiving love from innocent kitties. My most happy moment is when I open the door to Kitty Corner and hear the purrs and get to see and play with all the cats and kittens; instantly, I forget about daily stress, worrying about life, health, money etc. I feel so happy being able to take care of cute kittens and communicate what they want.”

ARF’s Dog Care team is a dedicated group of volunteers who selflessly invest their time and effort in ensuring the well-being of our furry friends. Their tireless work involves a range of tasks, from scrubbing and cleaning kennels to providing training and enrichment for the dogs and puppies.🐶
Despite the occasional mess and sometimes less-than-pleasant odors, these compassionate volunteers continue to smile because they understand the profound impact they have. When a dog or puppy finds a loving foster home or gets adopted, it validates all their hard work and dedication.🌟

We asked one of our Dog Care volunteers Lindsay J, What’s your favorite moment from Volunteering so far? “I don’t think I can pinpoint just one. I think the most gratifying moments are when I’ve been able to bring someone in my personal life to ARF to help out and see what’s involved in volunteering. The “Bring a Friend” program last July was amazing because I brought three girlfriends that grew up with dogs and understood what the work would entail and enjoyed every minute of it. It was nice to be able to share those experiences with my friends. But I’ve also made some wonderful connections at ARF and couldn’t imagine doing the work without them.”♥️
Gracie is a sweetheart in search of a loving home. This gentle girl deserves a special family who can provide the patience and understanding she needs to blossom into her best self.
While Gracie may be a bit anxious, she has so much love to give to the right family. With the support of a caring and compassionate household, she's sure to build her confidence and flourish.
One thing that has helped Gracie feel safe and secure is her crate. It has become her own personal sanctuary, where she can retreat and find comfort during times of uncertainty. With continued crate training and positive reinforcement, Gracie will continue to gain confidence and trust in her new surroundings.
