Amber is a spunky and rambunctious shepherd-type who enjoys fetching tennis balls, chewing and bouncing around with branches and taking a swim in the river on a hot day. If you have a squirrel problem in your backyard, she might be happy to take up residence and give them a run for their money. She knows her basic commands and a few others like shake-a-paw, she has learned not to counter surf and that all good behaviour is rewarded with treats and tasty bones. Amber is highly intelligent and thrives with a lot of mental stimulation along with regular exercise. Her ideal home would have some breed knowledge or experience because she can be a little on the protective side while on-leash and is looking for a partner to work with her through this. She plays well with her foster sibling and other dogs she meets off-leash and has made many friends. Amber would do well in a home with another dog or as an only dog and she may enjoy a home that is interested in trying out dog sports like agility. At this time, she would do best in a home without small children and small animals.
My ideal home will be excited to enroll us in the discounted training classes ARF offers, so we can start bonding and building our relationship on the right paw.
