Meet Hazel!
Hazel’s been in ARF’s care for quite some time now and despite being a volunteer favorite, has struggled to attract a family of her own. If you’ve been looking for the most loveable oaf there is, please keep reading!
Hazel is a smart, loving, medium-energy dog that would thrive in a household that really likes cuddles. She doesn’t exactly believe in personal space, and will happily cuddle up with her family at any and every opportunity. She is food-motivated and highly eager to please, making her incredibly easy to train. While she is happy to participate in family adventures, she’s just as happy to curl up on the couch and watch a movie with you.
Hazel’s been living with a foster family for the last little while, and has been an exceptional house guest. She is house & crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and is mostly happy to just be with her people. She walks well on a leash, and loves to nap and play with her toys while her foster family works. Currently, she is living with two other dogs and we think she’d do well either living with another neutral dog, or being the centre of attention. Her all-time favorite game is playing keep away with her toys and balls, and loves to be chased!
Hazel’s perfect family does need to understand that she can be reactive to new people. But, she is easily redirected, and has quite a few tricks in her repertoire that help her make friends within minutes. She has already shown huge progress since moving into a foster home, and we expect she’ll continue to improve with time and patience. She has previously been uncomfortable around little people, so we’re not recommending her for families with young kids or small animals at this time.
If Hazel sounds like a fit for your family, please reach out today! She has an awful lot of love to give, and sure deserves her perfect forever home.
My ideal home will be excited to enroll us in the discounted training classes ARF offers, so we can start bonding and building our relationship on the right paw.
