To date, Mars has raised nearly $500,000 in donations for ARF – and they’re just getting started! It’s only June, and 2023 is already shaping up to be their biggest year yet. The support that we receive from Mars comes in many ways, from the ARF fundraising event they host annually, their volunteer work at the facility, collection of donations, loading our volunteers’ bellies with free chocolates, and so much more!
One of the biggest highlights this year, thanks to an incredible donation from Mars, is an opportunity to share over 100,000lbs of dog and cat food within the province. So far, we have sent out over 8,000 lbs. of food this month to welfare agencies like Parachute for Pets and the Alberta Food Bank. Because of the wildfires, timeliness has been a critical issue, and Mars has truly stepped up to the plate. They even threw in a pallet of uncle bens rice, and a bunch of yummy M&M’s to help out even more. With the support from mars, we are hoping to triple the 10,000 lbs. of food we donated to the Alberta Food Bank in 2022.
